Adoption

Adoptions are usually an exciting and emotional process. Since adoption is establishing a legal obligation between  a conservator and a child, it is also a very technical process. There are several steps required prior to completing an adoption, including possibly terminating a parent(s) rights, completing a home study, appointing an Amicus Attorney to interview the child and family involved, completing background checks for the adopting parent(s), and other safeguards to ensure the adoption is in the best interest of the child. Our attorneys are experienced with helping families through step-parent adoptions, private adoptions, and agency adoptions.
